Using the directory

These terms govern your use of Formac, a directory of apps for macOS. By browsing it, submitting an app or creating an account you agree to them.

What a listing is

A listing describes an app and links to its developer's own website. Formac does not host, sell or distribute the apps, and is not responsible for them. Prices shown are the developer's own and may have changed. Download and buy apps from their developers at your own judgement.

Submitting an app

You may submit an app only if you are its developer or are authorised by them. By submitting you confirm that the text, icon and screenshots are yours to publish and you give us permission to show them on the site and in material that promotes it. The app must work, do what its description says, and be an app for macOS.

A person reviews every submission. We may decline or remove any listing, and edit a listing for clarity, length or accuracy.

Free listings and the badge

A free listing is given in exchange for our badge on the website you submit, as a link that search engines can follow. We check that it is there when you submit and from time to time afterwards. If it is removed we may remove the listing after contacting you.

Paid listings

Paid listings are a one-time payment through Stripe. Payment buys a review ahead of free submissions and, for a featured listing, a place in the featured row for the stated number of days from the day it is approved. Payment does not guarantee that an app is listed: if we do not list it, the payment is refunded in full. Once a listing is live the payment is not refundable.

Accounts

An account is optional. Keep your password secret; you are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend an account that is used to abuse the service.

Trademarks

Mac and macOS are trademarks of Apple Inc. Formac is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple. App names, icons and screenshots belong to their developers.

Availability and liability

We work to keep the site available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, a number of visits to a listing, or any result from being listed. To the extent the law allows, the service is provided as is and our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before a claim.
